Young Leaders

As always, the nominees for Head Boy and Head Girl were amazing. The children really put their heart and soul into the reason as to why they should be Head Girl and Head Boy. Anyone of them would do an amazing job. However, as is the nature of such things, there can only be four children elected. These are below. A huge congratulations to these children and a massive well done to all who took part.

Class Newsletters

You will have received your child’s Class Newsletter today. It will explain your child’s learning topic this term and other important information. Please take the time to look at this Newsletter and contact the school if you have any questions.

Water bottles

Children need to bring in a water bottle to school each day and take it home to be washed each day.  School logo bottles can be purchased from school but bought or with school logo.  School water bottles are £2. Please ensure your child’s bottle has their name on it.

Monster Kickabout – Larkhall were the Winners

You may recall that during the summer term Larkhall children took part in a Monster Kickabout Competition, sponsored by Sports Direct and Nike.

I am delighted to announce that our children were winners. They will take part in the ultimate pro football experience and play at the home of the England football team HQ’s, St George’s Park, to train like our Euro’s heroes at a professional ground and design an official kit that gets made.

Huge congratulations to the children for their amazing efforts. And as always, a massive thank you to Adam, our specialist Sports Coach for organising this and making sure our children were as prepared as possible.

Roald Dahl Day

On Monday 13th September 2021 we will be celebrating Roald Dahl Day as a whole school. To celebrate, all children are invited to wear non-uniform and asked to bring a donation of £1 towards new books for Years 1-6.  Children will be taking part in Roald Dahl themed activities based around some of their favourite Roald Dahl books such as Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Matilda and The BFG!

If you would like to join in at home The Roald Dahl Day website also has lots of ideas and resources to use: https://www.roalddahl.com/roald-dahl-story-day

Please follow the day’s activities on the Lark Hall twitter page.

New Covid Guidance

The latest government guidance is that children below the age of 18 years and 6 months Individuals are not required to self-isolate if they live in the same household as someone with COVID-19, or are a close contact of someone with COVID-19.

Instead, they will be contacted by NHS Test and Trace, informed they have been in close contact with a positive case and advised to take a PCR test. We would encourage all individuals to take a PCR test if advised to do so. They should also wear a face covering when travelling on public or dedicated transport.

Back to Normal

Many thank you to all of our families for working with us in order for the school to get back to normal. If any parents have any comments they would to share, lease do speak to me or a member of the team. We are always happy to receive input.

Best wishes

Gary
