Dear Parents
This is the final weekly letter this half term and as always, I hope you and your families are as well as can be expected in the present circumstances.
Children Returning to School
We were confident that the children would quickly adjust to life back in school – however, there is always that nagging doubt that there might be some challenges! I am pleased to let you know that our confidence was justified: the first three weeks back in school have run smoothly and it feels as though we have never been away – in addition our attendance is at or above normal for this time of year.
Celebrations and achievements! Scenes around school
Step 1: get all the children back into school. At some point we hope that we can have mums and dads back in too! In the meantime, we thought you’d like to see some views of the classes from Nursery to Year 6.
As you know, after the Easter break year groups will operate as whole year groups, which will make many of our systems in school, such as lunch and playtimes, more flexible and easier to manage. The year groups will have a staggered break and lunch times and they will not be mixing with children outside of their year groups.
We have longer term plans for how we may be able to relax some of the other restrictions as the academic year progresses, such as restarting some local trips and visits, which will add once more to the richness of the learning experience we offer our children. Crossing fingers! Of course this all depends on national and local changes and direction from the government.
Finally, just a reminder we finish for Easter holidays on Wednesday 31st March at 2:00pm and the children return on Tuesday 20th April. I hope you all have a great break.
That’s it from me. As always, if there is anything else myself or a member of the team can do to help and support you during this time, please do not hesitate to get in touch in the usual ways.
Best wishes Gary
