Dear Families,
This is the second letter of this final half term of the academic year and as always I hope you and your families are keeping well.
Please see the latest information and news below which includes an update about Sports Day, Non-Uniform Day, Nursery places and Year 6 Key Dates.
Sports Day
I want to remind all of our families that Sports Day for Year 1 – Year 6 is going ahead as planned. It is taking place on Tuesday 13th July at Larkhall Park.
- Years 1-3 will take place 9:30am- 11.30am
- Years 4-6 will take place 1:15pm- 3:00pm
I do want to stress that due to public health guidelines it will be different from a ‘normal’ Sports Day. Please see the key points below
- The children will compete against children in their year group and not their usual House teams
- Parents must adhere to current social distancing requirements. Parents can gather in separate groups of up to 30 – but multiple groups of 30 are permitted
I want to thank Adam, our amazing Sports Coordinator, for organising Sports Day. So many schools are deciding not to have a Sports Day, or if they are then very often parents are not being invited.
We feel, however, that given the year we have had and this being a day that children and parents really look forward to, and providing we all follow the guidelines, we are hoping it will be a fun and memorable day and a great way to finish off the year.
Adam will write to families closer to the day to advise you of the specific guidelines to follow during Sports Day.
Monster Kickabout
This week has been Monster Kickabout Week, an event promoted by Nike and Sports Direct. Our children took part in some football activities throughout the week. They had an amazing time and again I want to thank all of our families for making a contribution on this date. All donation will go towards play time equipment for our children.
Non-Uniform Day (Reading Books)
As I stressed in the last Newsletter, we all know, the children love to come into school wearing their own clothes. You are all aware we are having three Non-Uniform days to raise funds for reading books for our children. On the recent second date, the final total donated by our families was £260. This will all go towards buying more books for our children. I do want to stress, I know these are uncertain times where household finances can be an added anxiety, so a huge Thank You from me. Over these three Non-Uniform days we hope to raise £1000 and the final one is:
- Friday 16th July
As I said previously, I have had many families contact me about donating spare reading books that they have. These have been very generous offers. If there are more families willing to donate reading books, please contact the school office and we will be delighted to accept your offer.
Little Larks Nursery (2 Year Old)
Are you or anyone you know entitled to 15 hours of FREE funding for your 2 year-old? If so, we are currently taking applications for our Little Larks Nursery. If you require more information or support to find out if you are eligible for the funding, please contact the office on 020 7622 3820.
Big Larks Nursery (3 and 4 Year Old)
There are also part time and full time spaces available for our 3 Year Old Nursery in September. Please call the school office if you are interested.
Year 6 Upcoming Events
As always, at this time of year we will be saying goodbye to our amazing Year 6 children. For obvious reasons it has not been a normal year for them and their families. We are making sure, however, they leave us with some fantastic memories from their final few weeks with us. Below are some of the activities planned.
- 15.07.21 First Leavers Performance
- 16.07.21 Second Leavers Performance
- 16.07.21 Overnight stay at school (with all sorts of goodies planned)
- 22.07.21 Graduation Ceremony
That’s it from me. As always, if there is anything else myself or a member of the team can do to help and support you during this time, please do not hesitate to get in touch in the usual ways.
Have a great weekend.
Best wishes,
Gary
