LINA SANTOS
You will have noticed a new project underway in the main playground near to the fish pond. This area is going to be made into a wellbeing and relaxation garden and there will also be a special memorial to Lina in this space. It will be a space for quiet reflection and a space of calm. A new date has been set for Lina’s commemoration, which is Friday 24th June after school. This will also be the date that we launch and open the new garden space.
We want to involve the community as much as possible. If any of our parents have any ideas about what you feel Lina would have liked to be in there, then please do let me know. We welcome all ideas. Example ideas so far include putting a bench and a new planter with a tree and a plaque to remember her.
At the time of Lina’s passing we had lots of requests for donating towards something. We will now be opening this up and collecting in donations towards the memorial i.e. a bench or tree etc. So if you would like to make a donation then please do pass it to the admin team who will collect your donation.
Finally, if you would like to be part of the planning team for the memorial event on 24th June then please do let me know as we would like it to be a celebration of Lina and may well run similar to a summer fair, as we know how much she enjoyed this event each year so lots of people will be needed to help.
UNIFORM
As the weather improves (hopefully) I want to send a couple of reminders. Firstly, please send all clothing into school with your child’s name on it. In particular, I can’t stress enough how important this is with regard jumpers. This is the term where children will be removing their jumpers constantly and so to avoid losing them, please write their name clearly. Also, if your child wears a cap to protect them from the sun, then only Larkhall caps are to be worn. Finally, on those hot days, sun cream should be applied just before your child leaves for the school in the morning.
We have some old caps left with the school logo on and will be selling these at a reduced rate of £3.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
I want to remind our families of the After School Clubs held at Larkhall. This term we are offering 7 After School Clubs.
