Larkhall Primary Campus Newsletter
Friday 26th November 2021
Dear Families
I hope you and your families are keeping well. As always, there is lots of information contained within this newsletter. Please take the time to read it.
COVID GUIDANCE
I wanted to update you all with the latest Covid guidance
Children should not come into school for the following reasons:
- They have Covid symptoms (There have been a couple of cases whereby a headache followed by feeling tired and having a stomach ache is then leading to a positive PCR result. So my advice is if anyone has these symptoms, then seek a PCR test)
- They have had a positive PCR test result
- Other reasons requiring them to stay at home due to the risk of them passing on COVID-19 (for example, they are required to isolate by Track and Trace).
If any child in school develops symptoms, however mild, we will send them home to seek a PCR test and to isolate whilst waiting for the result.
If children do not have symptoms they are not required to self-isolate.
If children live in the same household as someone with COVID-19, or are a close contact of someone with COVID-19, they will be contacted by NHS Test and Trace, informed they have been in close contact with a positive case and advised to take a PCR test.
We would encourage all individuals to take a PCR test if advised to do so.
- Please remember a PCR test is not the same as a Lateral Flow Test. All children with symptoms should take a PCR test.
- Please also remember, even those who have been double vaccinated, if you are showing any symptoms, you must seek a PCR test.
Please inform the school immediately if your child tests positive for Covid.
DOJO
We recently sent a letter to all of our families, informing you that from January 2022 Larkhall will be rolling out Class Dojo as its main form of home-school communication. During Autumn 2, Class Dojo will gradually replace the current text and email system.
You also received a guide on how to connect to Class Dojo. To remind all of our families, please can you:
- read it
- sign the agreement on the back page
- return the agreement to your child’s class teacher by Wednesday 1st December
Once you have returned your signed agreement, your child’s class teacher will send you an invite link to your child’s class by text message. Follow the steps in the guide to set up your account. If you have any questions, please speak to a member of the Leadership team.
CHILDREN IN NEED
On Friday 19th November Larkhall helped raise money for Children in Need 2021! As we know, Children in Need is a fantastic charity, which helps change the lives of disabled children and young people in the UK. This year our theme was Crazy Pyjama Day, whereby children and staff wore pyjamas and children also brought their teddy bear to school. This year we raised £230. I want to say a huge thank you to all of families, children and staff for making this such a success.
BOOK FAIR
You are aware that we have recently held the Book Fair here at Larkhall. Many thanks for those who came along. I am delighted to say through your purchases we have raised £350 to allow us to purchase books for our children. On behalf of the children, a huge thank you.
AFTER SCHOOL HUB
If you require the Hub After School provision, please provide us with plenty of notice. At the last minute, if you require the Hub on the same day, you will need to make bookings before 11:00am on the day in question. Please use SIMs Pay to make payment for all of these clubs.
