PARENT VIEW
I am seeking your help in order to record your views about the school. The main forum for parents is Ofsted Parent View. The link for this is below.
https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/
It is a confidential and anonymous survey and will take approx 5 minutes to complete.
The survey asks parents to respond to 14 statements and questions.
Unless otherwise specified, all the answer options to the statements are:
- strongly agree
- agree
- disagree
- strongly disagree
- don’t know.
There are a couple of exceptions.
E.G. ‘My child has been bullied and the school dealt with the bullying quickly and effectively’ – you can also select ‘My child has not been bullied’.
E.G. ‘When I have raised concerns with the school they have been dealt with properly’ parents can select ‘I have not raised any concerns’.
PARENT EVENING
I want to say a huge thank you for your attendance at the Parent Evening meetings. The teachers find these meetings incredibly valuable; I hope you do too. Particularly, at the start of an academic year, they are so important in order for you be aware of the targets your children are working towards and how home and school working together can help achieve these targets. For those families unable to make these meetings, please contact the school office to make an appointment wit your child’s teacher.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION VISITS
You may be aware that we devote a part of the autumn term to understanding the major world religions. This will involve a focus within the classroom, together with all children making a visit to a religious place of worship. It is one of the highlights of the school year, a chance for all children to understand the key facets of each of the religions and also the common bonds between all religions. We believe it is important for all of our children to share in this programme of study. If you haven’t already, you will receive notification of your child’s visit, and we would appreciate a swift response giving your permissions for your child to attend.
P.E. KIT
Can I remind all families that for PE children need to bring a PE kit to school that they change into. PE kits should consist of a different plain white t-shirt and blue or black shorts OR a different pair of tracksuit bottoms. Not only is this school policy, but also changing clothes is a skill children need to develop
I would suggest children bring their PE kit with them on a Monday and take it home again on a Friday.
CLASS NEWSLETTERS
As is always the case at the start of the half term, on the first Friday after we return, you will be receiving your child’s Class Newsletter for Autumn Term 1 2022. It provides a summary of what the children will be learning this half term, as well as other information linked to this term. The Larkhall Primary Campus website contains all of the newsletters for each year group together with the Curriculum Map for each year group.
That’s it from me. If there is anything else myself or a member of the team can do to help and support you during this time, please do not hesitate to get in touch in the usual ways. I am also always on the Gaskell Street gates each morning from 8:40am.
Best wishes
Gary
