Dear Families
This is the third letter this half term and as always I hope you and your families are keeping well.
Please see the latest information and news below, including the easing of lockdown measures, the parent governor vacancy and school lunches.
Easing of Lockdown Measures for England on Monday 17th May 2011
You may be aware that from Monday 17th May there is further easing of the lockdown measures across England. Changes include:
- People being able to meet in groups of up to 30 outdoors
- Six people or two households are able to meet indoors, with overnight stays allowed
- Social distancing with close family and friends will be a matter of personal judgement. But people are asked to remain cautious around close contact, like hugging.
- Social distancing will remain in place in social care, medical, retail, hospitality and business settings. People will still need to wear face coverings on transport and in shops, unless they are exempt.
- The opening up of leisure entertainment venues.
The aim is for the remaining lockdown measure to be removed from June 21st, when a return to normal life seems likely.
I know many families are still cautious about the lockdown measures being lifted. In light of this, I think it prudent we maintain the existing measures in operation at the start and end of the day. As a reminder, these are below:
- Maintain 2m distance from others – including queuing at the start and end of the day
- Always wear a face mask that covers your nose and mouth
- At the end of the day, follow the one-way system through the playground
- Please leave the site once you have collected your child
- If you need to speak with the class teacher, then please make an appointment by phone or email.
- Avoid chatting with other parents in groups (especially near the car park gates)
- Access to the school office is by appointment only
Parent Governor
On Monday 17th May all families will be receiving the voting pack in order to elect a new Parent Governor. The voting process will consist of using two envelopes, which are contained in the pack. The use of two envelopes ensures that your vote remains confidential.
You will vote for your preferred candidate and insert it in the first envelope. This first envelope will then be placed inside the second envelope and you will include your details on the second envelope. This second envelope will then be checked against the list of school parents entitled to vote. The first envelope will then be removed so that your vote is anonymous.
From Tuesday 18th May – Friday 21st May parents will be able to post their envelopes into postal boxes which will be situated at both Gaskell Street and Smedley Street entrances.
School Lunches
Can I ask all families to continue to use the same meal pattern each week for the entire half term. Changes should not be made during half-term.
- For example, if you have school lunch Mondays and Tuesday and packed lunches the rest of the week this needs to be set for the whole half term.
We recognise there may be times when this is not always possible. If families need to change their arrangements for any given day, then please call the school and inform us of any changes you wish to make.
Absences and Lates
If your child is absent from school, please remember to phone the school office and leave a message.
If your child arrives after 9AM, after the gate is closes, please make sure you come into school to sign your child in. They should not be coming in by themselves.
That’s it from me. As always, if there is anything else myself or a member of the team can do to help and support you during this time, please do not hesitate to get in touch in the usual ways.
Best wishes
Gary
