POP-UP BOOK HUT – FREE BOOKS
We are very excited to be part of the Children’s Book Project ‘Discovery Book Programme’ this year!
This project means that each child at Larkhall will be able to choose 6 free books over the year!
We will be running a book giveaway event every term, starting with this event. Children will be given time to choose their books during the school day.
More details will be coming your way, but look out for the book your child has chosen in their bag and happy reading!

FAMILY CENTRE
This term our Family Centre will be running stay and play sessions for under 5s every MONDAY and WEDNESDAY from 1:30 – 3pm.
We offer a range of activities for babies and toddlers! These sessions are open to everyone in the local community, please help spread the word!
We hope to see you soon at the Family Centre!
SCHOOL UNIFORM HELP FOR OUR FAMILIES
We are aware of the extremely difficult financiall circumstances many of our families find themselves in. In order to help in any way we can, we have uniform which has been donated and is free for families to take. You will find it in the corridor of our Gaskell Street Entrance. Please help yourselves to what you need. There is no need to make an appointment or ask a member of the school staff.
LITTLE LARKS NURSERY (2 YEAR OLDS)
Are you or anyone you know entitled to 15 hours of FREE funding for your 2 year-old? If so, we are currently taking applications for our Little Larks Nursery. If you require more information or support to find out if you are eligible for the funding, please contact the office on 020 7622 3820.
SCHOOL COUNCIL
The Larkhall School Council is such a well-established part of the school. They continue to meet and work on many projects. As always, the children are not short of ideas when it comes to improving the school. The members of the School Council are voted on to it by their peers in class, so it is a very prestigious and at the same time responsible role within the school. School Council are instrumental in organising the many events throughout the school year, such as the Charity and Fundraising days.
One day, I’m sure, through their active involvement, we will finally install the heated swimming pool somewhere in the school grounds.
LARKHALL WEBSITE
I want to inform our families that the school website is packed full of everything you need to know about the school. You will find information linked to the school curriculum (under the header ‘Larkhall Curriculum’), as well as specific information to the learning your child will be looking at this term (under the header ‘Year Group Information’). It hopefully provides a quick and easy access to find out everything about the school. The website address is larkhall.lambeth.sch.uk. The website can also be seen in seven different languages, representing the school community.
That’s it from me. If there is anything else myself or a member of the team can do to help and support you during this time, please do not hesitate to get in touch in the usual ways. Myself and other members of the senior leadership team are also always either on Smedley Street or Gaskell Street every morning from 8:30am.
Best wishes
Gary
