Dear Families

Please see below the latest Newsletter. As always, please take the time to look at the information within this Newsletter. It is being put on the website and onto Dojo.

SPORTS DAY

Sports day will be Tuesday 11th July this year. It will be at Kennington Park and will be for all children in Woodlarks and mainstream school from Reception – Year 6.

Save the date and come along to support! It may seem a long time away, but here are a few reminders of the day itself.

Children will need to come into school in their PE kit. Those who usually have a school meal will be provided with a school lunch.

Approximately, half of the classes will be travelling by tube and the other half will be walking. We will be travelling to Kennington Park between 9.30-10 and returning back to school by 3pm.

If you have any early questions between now and then, let us know,

Many thanks and we look forward to a great day.

CLASS PHOTOGRAPHS

All children will be taking class photographs on Thursday 15th June 2023. Please ensure your child comes into school on time wearing full school uniform.

If you need to purchase any uniform, this can be done using pay360.

PYJAMARAMA DAY

Pyjamarama day is on Friday 16th June.

Taking part in Pyjamarama Day gives schools a great way to encourage children to read for pleasure. By getting involved, we can raise vital funds to make sure that no child misses out on their bedtime story.

On this date, children can come into school in their Pyjamas and bring £1 to raise money to support our work to get more children reading.

Best of all, we can all wear pyjamas all day!

MINI LONDON MARATHON

In case you may have forgotten, please return your child’s sponsorship form for the mini London marathon with any money raised to the office by Monday 22nd May.

PUNCTUALITY AT THE START OF THE DAY

We still have a small number of children arriving at or after 8:45am each day. Routines are so important for our children as is the need to develop the life skill of being on time for the start of the day. A reminder that the school gates are open from 8:30am and close at 8:45am prompt. If the children arrive at 8:30am and at the latest 8:40am it sets them up for the day ahead as their teachers have specified work set for them at this time. Furthermore, if the children are arriving after 8:45am it means they are missing this learning opportunity at 8:30am as well as the start of their morning sessions that begin at 8:45am.

SCHOOL TWITTER FEED

I know I often mention this, but please do take the time to look at the Larkhall Twitter feed on the school website. It is full of the amazing learning our children are demonstrating each and every week. The staff at Larkhall are fantastic at bringing the curriculum alive and this is highlighted on Twitter. It is something I highlight in each Friday morning Celebration Assembly as it enables all of the children to see what other children in school are learning about.

LITTLE LARKS NURSERY (2 YEAR OLDS)

Are you or anyone you know entitled to 15 hours of FREE funding for your 2 year-old? If so, we are currently taking applications for our Little Larks Nursery.  If you require more information or support to find out if you are eligible for the funding, please contact the office on 020 7622 3820.

That’s it from me. If there is anything else myself or a member of the team can do to help and support you during this time, please do not hesitate to get in touch in the usual ways. I am also always on the Gaskell Street gates each morning from 8:30am.

Best wishes

Gary
