Dear Families

Please see below the latest Newsletter. As always, please take the time to look at the information within this Newsletter. It is being put on the website and onto Dojo.

HALLOWEEN DISCO

We are all very excited for our ‘Spooky or Sparkly’ School Disco for years 1-6. There will be two discos, one for Year 1 – Year 3 and one for Year 4 – Year 6. The date for both is Wednesday 1st November 3:45 – 4:45.

Years 1-3: First floor hall
Years 4-6: Second floor hall

The details were sent via Class Dojo and you may have seen posters around the school too. Tickets are £3 and include snacks but please send children with some change as we will have face painting and tattoos that the children will be able to buy for 50p.

The children were told about the Disco in a recent assembly and tickets are available to buy on Schoolcomms. Please note that due to the space, there will be limited tickets!

Children should bring their outfits to school. They will have time before the disco to get into their outfits and will be taken to the hall for 3.45 by a member of staff. Adults will need to collect their children promptly at 4.45.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

INTERNATIONAL DAY

As part of Religious Education week we are holding an International Day to celebrate the cultures and faiths of the Larkhall Community.

Events on this day:

  • Children can dress in traditional clothing from your family culture, or in special clothing they wear to a special family occasion (e.g. wedding)
  • Bring and share – Family members are invited into school at 2:30 to share food and traditions from your cultures

Please send your child to school with a £1 donation towards our curriculum resources.

Homemade or shop bought food is welcome! Please ensure you provide an ingredients list for any food you bring so that we can cater for allergies. PLEASE NO FOOD WITH NUTS.

Your child’s class teacher will also be in touch on Dojo to make arrangements for the events that will take place in classrooms at 2:30.

This event is taking place in EYFS and Years 1-6 in the Main School.

FAMILY DROP-IN SESSIONS

Our Learning Mentor, Paula Gordon, will be offering weekly drop in sessions for parents who may want to discuss further support they might be able to access for a variety of issues.

Paula will be available on Wednesday and Thursday mornings between 8:30 & 9:30 every week. There is no need to book, please come to the Gaskell Street office and let them know that you are here to see Paula.

Appointments will be arranged on a first come first serve basis. Alternatively, if you have a limited timescale you could send Paula a Dojo message to arrange a specific time or even a phone call.

NEW PAYMENT SYSTEM FOR UNIFORMS AND OTHER THINGS!

We would like to inform you that all uniform is available to purchase via Schoolcomms on the payment section. If you are ordering school Uniform, please be advised to comment which size you require when adding to your basket.

This is a new system and if families would like any support with this, then please pop into the office and we will talk you through the process.
