School Closure

On Wednesday March 18th 2020 the Government announced the general closure of all schools until further notice. This took effect from Friday 20th March 2020.

Communication between home and school

As you know, communication between home and school is always vital, but particularly now. Which is why we are keeping in touch through a variety of means. Please see the link below outlining the different ways we are keeping in touch.

Children allowed in school

There are two categories of children attending schools from Monday 23rd March. These are:

  • Vulnerable Children (those with an Education Health Care Plan or a social worker)
  • Children who have a parent designated as Key Worker. Please see the link below for Government information concerning key workers.

If you have one of these jobs, and have not already contacted the school, please inform the school via email or phone at the earliest opportunity.

Please use this address:

Once this has been confirmed, a member of school staff will be in touch with you.

Free School Meal Children

The government have put in place a national scheme to enable families to access vouchers from a local supermarket. Please see the link below for details about this.

Please also use this link to access seesaw, whereby children from Year 1 to Year 6 will be able to click on their year group page and access the QR code.

Furthermore, please see this link below for our youtube account to help with remote learning.

Two other useful learning websites to look at are:

Home Learning Paper Format

I am aware not all families will have access to these website activities. Importantly, if families would like paper copies of resources for their children, please contact the school to arrange a time to come in and collect a pack. These packs contain materials for Maths and English.'

Physical Exercise

Our P.E. Specialist, Adam, is also preparing 1 post a week for either youtube or twitter relating to staying fit and healthy at home.

Sarah Jane Green, who is a Yoga teacher, has produced a yoga session especially for Lark Hall children and families. It is amazing and I’m sure lots of you would find this extremely beneficial. Below is the link to the video that is on our youtube channel.

Online Safety

Please be mindful of safe internet usage. Below is a very useful link for families with regard to online safety. It includes most of the apps and games children might use.

Latest Government Announcement

You may be aware that on Thursday 16th April the Government announced that schools would continue to be closed after the Easter holidays until further notice. For full details of what this means for schools, please see the link below.

There seems to be plenty of speculation surrounding both the lockdown and schools being closed. The truth is, no one can say for sure how long the lockdown and school closure will need to last for. So for the foreseeable future, things will stay as they have been.
